STAY WELL OR SET YOURSELF UP TO BE SICK..
It has been a while since I have written anything or posted anything on this blog.Life has been hectic..too many interesting things happened..some were nice, some were not so nice, some were bad...BUT most importantly they were colorful and thus has added color to my life...making it more interesting...Anyway lets bygone be bygone....the year 2009 is coming to an end...let us usher 2010 in style and with much enthusiasm. Most importantly let us start by having goals to be achieved in 2010..
Setting up Goals is very important..it is a written commitment that would allow us to look and re look at the written promises we made to ourselves...again and again...
So what would be the goals for 2010...???
I would like to give some tips on health...well, they are not new, nothing bombastic definitely...BUT these will served as reminder to many of us who are extremely busy catching up on life and totally forgotten that to enable us to run ahead of time...to get ahead of others, the most important aspect not to be forgotten is 'GOOD HEALTH'
Here comes some tips to put ourselves in tip top condition to welcome 2010...
1)GET ENOUGH SLEEP:
In the era of face booking, many people have erratic sleep pattern, often having many late nights and trying to catch up on their sleep mainly at the weekend.Well...it is OK for a while, but eventually this kind of life style catches up on you and make one's health suffer.
Healthy people get sufficient sleep, have regular sleep pattern, go to bed roughly at the same time each nite and get up at the same time daily...try do this for a week and see how much better you feel.
Maybe it is time to say goodbye to late night face booking....
2)Lose a little weight:
How ?? you may wonder...
i) reduce your intake of refined carbohydrates such as biscuits, white bread or pasta..
ii) reduce or eliminate sweet sugary drinks ie coke, soda, or drinks made from concentrated fruit juices, instead drink plenty of plain water..
iii) do some exercise, such as walking, swimming etc few times a week..why not start by walking around your neighbourhood, around the block and down the road...and while you are at it,look out at what is around you...walk for about 30 minutes..
3) Set some health goals for 2010:
Decide which area/part of health you wanna improve, write them down..the problematic area/part, what is your targets to achieve ,the plan to do it, the time frame to achieve the target, commit them to yourself, if needed be, get some trusted someone to be your witness, someone who would make sure you act and follow through your programmes without fail.
Make a commitment to yourself, believing that ' your dreams ' can be achieved and get excited about accomplishing them but most importantly GET STARTED ASAP..
Well.. friends and reader......just remember that the choice of staying well or setting yourself up to be sick is entirely in your hands.....it is yours and yours alone to decide...all we have to do is do our best to stay healthy and pray we'll stay healthy with God Grace...until my next posting, live with passion and take care..

everything happens for a purpose
I have not written for ages....I suppose,I just lost it....???Anyway...I am here today to share with you about some interesting story about a king and his friend who has the habit of looking at every situation that occurred in his life with remarks..'this is good'.
Here the story goes:
One day the king and his friend were out hunting when an accident happened...the king had his thumb blown off when he fired the gun prepared by the friend...as usual the friend remarked....THIS IS GOOD!
The king was upset with the remarks and sent him to jail...
A year later the king was captured by cannibals. He was taken to their village to be eaten, but when they noticed his missing thumb, they set him free cause they never eat anyone who is less than whole...
The king felt remorse for his treatment of his friend, visited him...anyway as usual his friend remarks was ..."THIS IS GOOD! If I had not been in jail,i would have been there with you and not here with you right now....."
In a very unusual way,the message here unfolds into exposing the following principle of life...
ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A PURPOSE;AND OUT OF WHAT SEEMS LIKE ADVERSITY AT THE TIME,ALWAYS COMES GOOD!
If we reflect back whatever has happened in our lives...we will discover that we have really grown or developed during that period of time...even though the reflection may still cause us discomfort in some way.We may think or feel it is unfair, but we do slowly gather experience and wisdom...
SO THE NEXT TIME YOU MAY BEGIN TO FEEL YOU ARE BEING WRONGED BY BEING STUCK IN TRAFFIC JAM,THINK ABOUT THE CANNIBALS THAT COULD BE LURKING DOWN THE ROAD A BIT,BUT WILL BE GONE BY THE TIME YOU GET THERE!
Until my next posting, just remember these words of wisdom....what others do or say about you is their stuff, how we react or not is our stuff...live with passion and take care...

Be Grateful....................
It seems ages since my last writing...I am not very sure about the reason for that prolonged period of silence...I attributed it to writer's block...but was it really? For all I know,I was consumed with all sort of emotions...I was really confused and unable to focus on things at hands. In retrospect, what I had until probably today wasn't just a writer's block...I was probably on the verge of depression...feel downright failure and as if the whole world was on my shoulder...it was as if even the world was not approving of the way i live my life..sigh!!!!
Anyway, today I realized that I and only me is responsible for my own life....if I am unhappy,it is because of me...if I was depressed, definitely it is a result of my past actions...
I come to realised today...that the most powerful emotions one could feel and use to bring all good into one's life is gratitude...no matter where you are,who you are,how bad you are feeling, gratitude can dissolve all negativity in your life...
Even though one is poor and can hardly make ends meet...one should still be grateful for what one has...it is impossible to bring more good into your life if you are feeling ungrateful for what you have...
So why don't all of us start doing, practising what we all have learnt from all the readings we have been doing all this time.....it is time to put that knowledge into action and benefit from it...remember a knowledge is just that...remains a knowledge if not practised...it doesn't matter how much you know because eventually people around you judge you by your actions..
Let us all start our day with feelings of gratitude...be thankful that you live another day, that you have roof on your head, you have bed to come back to at night and you are still in one piece...that you have food for breakfast this morning, that you are still capable to bathe and so on and on....let even be grateful for the unkind remarks from other people, because it tells us we are still matter to them....
Why not make it habit to list them down...if not twice a day (which is at the beginning and at the end of the before you retire to bed.), at least once a day...
whilst you are doing your list...feel the feelings of gratitude...really feel it with all your heart...let the universe knows you meant it...
Until my next posting, let us think, speak and feel gratitude......let us be grateful that we have full control of our mind...we are the master of our mind, live with passion and take care.

Make it a gift
I have been busy lately, preoccupied with other things that are challenging mentally and emotionally.
Anyway...what do you do?or how would you feel if someone took something from you without you knowing it?what do you call this?stealing?
Yeah..I have anticipated the answer...you get resentful, you get angry and you get vengeful...how dare you?????I want it back!!!!
Since now we are in the month of Ramadhan...the month of giving and forgiving...I have an idea...instead of getting angry and vengeful...smile and say your gratitude, thank GOD and make it a gift to that person...in your mind with spirit, with your feelings and with your heart, change that theft into a gift that you have given to them...give it freely and don't expect it back...think about the situation...that person must have really needed it badly.
If some one's willing to take something from you, then they must have needed it worse than you do...and it is horrible. You don't have to be angry at them..it is their call..they made their bed and they are going to deal with that, and you have to deal with you...bless that gift and God blesses you in return...be grateful and you will be rewarded in return...of course you are not going to get back the same or similar item but sometimes you get something else for free...free services, free lunch ,free dinner......when you give, you get!
For the month of Ramadhan...there is this special kind of giving, giving that is required, giving that blesses your entire life and that is tithing...Zakat fitrah!
Zakat Fitrah is RM7 per head this year and please don't see it as a burden...pay your due with gratitude...
Until my next posting, remember when you give freely, you are creating a flow of abundance into your life, live with passion and take care.

Go The Extra Mile
I have not blogged for a while now..been busy with other things and I think the writer's block still hovering over my head!Still looking for the best motivating factor to keep me going...
Today is the only 3rd day of fasting but I already started preparing for the much awaited 'Hari Raya'.I started my Ramadhan with spring cleaning of the house on 2nd day...now spring cleaning to me has to be very thorough...from top to bottom and it was real tiring...and to tell you the truth I am not even half way through it yet...i guess it would go on until the end of Ramadhan, doing bits by bits at spare time..such as at night after all the other essentials business has been attended to..
Having gone through the process of spring cleaning thoroughly...I remember something about going the extra mile. What I am basically doing is going extra mile for the family and myself...of course the easiest and simplest way to do this would be, to get on the phone and get or hire someone to do it...but I prefer to do it my own for many reasons, one being that the other party is not willing to go the extra mile despite extra payment!
What exactly is going the extra mile?It means the rendering of more and better service than that for which one is paid and giving it in a positive mental attitude.
Whenever I am dealing with other people,I could sensed whether they are sincere in what they are doing or just thinking about the reward at the end of the month...I used to tell them to work from the heart..because if one is sincere in one's dealings, one is prepared to go the extra mile anytime anywhere..you are doing it because you love it..it could be anything like treating patient, governing the office, collecting the toll or even cleaning the house..lots of people leave cleaning of the house to maids, be it live in or hired on hourly basis..but I find that many of them are not doing the job from the heart...not sincere and just doing 'The Job',therefore I was never satisfied with their finished product..
I rather do the cleaning myself...tiring but satisfaction guaranteed!
work as if you have no need of the money...
love as if nobody ever made you suffer...
dance as if no body is watching you...
sing as if nobody is hearing you...
live as if the paradise is here on earth...
Until my next posting, serve humanity by being genuine and authentic, live with passion and take care.

Money Leaks
It seemed last month the economic situation was improving but this month it seems to be a little bit unstable and fluctuating..anyway I am quite sure both have impact on many people, be it positive or negative...depends on what you do or did...of course to be in the winning situation, one has to hold or to buy more when the price is down and maybe to sell when the price is up...
Have you heard of money leaks...I am a medical doctor and not a CFP, but i don't think it is wrong to be sharing with you all, what little but sound knowledge I have learned about managing our finances...sharing with you all is akin to reminding myself about this thing...
How money leaks happen and how to cure it?
- Carrying monthly credit card balance is costly, therefore make an effort to pay off your credit card balances in full every month. If you have substantial balance, refrain from putting new expenses on the card.Try to live within budget, remember the seven cures to lean purse I shared with you earlier...try to live within budget which should be within 90% of your income.
- Purchasing things you don't need!We all have done it...buying on impulse during sales just because these things are on sale for 70% discount. We always think it is simply too damn cheap to pass up...and leave this thing collecting dust in the store at home...let us evaluate the necessity of a purchase before getting caught up in the discount.Sometimes we also buy things in bulk and realised they are near expiry or already expired before we are able to use them and have to be tossed off.Tossing things off also translates as money down the drain.
- Unnecessary expenses like membership or recreational items or services that we never really use...maybe it is time to consider cancelling them...
- Review your budget to see where you can cut corners or perhaps even a potential leaks...like do we have to spent RM30-50 on cigarettes every month?or RM50 to watch movie every month?hiring DVD maybe a cheaper option...
- Review your insurance payment and find out which payment option is cheaper.Paying quarterly or biannually are probably cheaper compared to paying monthly...no harm asking and you don't lose anything but probably have something to gain...
Until my next posting, beware of your financial wound, live with passion and take care.

Discourse on Loving Kindness
I missed yesterday's blogging session...i try to write daily, but yesterday.. i had what you might called a writer's block..no matter how hard i tried i was unable to bring myself to write something..i guess yesterday was not my day..
Anyway, remember the saying: forgive and forget? Some of you may say..easier said than done!of course it is...on most circumstances! However my dear friends...negative emotions such as anger, frustrations, hatred etc have physical consequences such as high blood pressure and if these feelings are not resolved early, can lead to state of chronic stress.Chronic stress in turn, leave door opened to other illnesses. You may say a vicious cycles has been created unless you take action to break the pattern which is getting rid of that negative emotions residing within you...by forgiving and hence forgetting!
By forgiving, you are doing yourself a favour by freeing yourself of these negative emotions and harmful energies..forgiving someone does not mean you approve their actions or letting them off hook easily....
Let us all get inspired by this Poem.....by Buddha.
Discourse on loving kindness
Let your love flow outward through the universe,
to it's height, to it's depth, to it's broad extent....
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity....
Then as you stand or walk, sit or lie down...
As long as you are awake....
Strive for this with a one pointed mind....
Your life will bring heaven to earth.
Until my next posting, free yourself of negative emotions, live with passion and take care.

We are the creator of our own life
I just saw a friend who told me that the economy is still bad, that someone known to her has been jobless for past 4 months.
I also know someone who is unhappy at his work place. My heart goes to these people. To tell you all, the truth,I never really realized how bad the situation is...i know people who got promoted in their job and had salary increment..I also see new cars emerging on the road everyday..and I am not talking about national car..I saw expensive imported car emerging on the road daily?don't you all notice?or maybe I have more opportunity to observe coz I commute on congested roads daily...Even my neighbours are changing their car like it has become a new fashion...
Anyway,to the majority of people affected by poor economy, I would like to say..when life give you lemons, make lemonade.Think about this when tests and difficulties found their ways into your life.It helps keep a clear perspective. It helped me remember that I am here to grow and to learn...and sometimes the only way to do that is to make lemonade...make the best of bad situation.Always remember that we are the creator of our own life and experiences.
Until my next posting, remember that your life is nothing more than a reflection of your current level of thinking..change your thinking and you change your life, live with passion and take care.

Creation of God
Today is Wednesday and we are almost halfway through the weekdays. Are we feeling better than the beginning of the week i.e Monday??Whatever you are feeling, just remember that life is really an art in creating balance...having enough food, enough sleep, enough play and love.
At heart, we are simple creatures that want peace of mind and heart filled with positive energy...
Whenever you can,do something for yourself.Don't hang around waiting for someone to buy you flowers and make you happy...you can do it yourself.Start treating yourself to small inexpensive things whether it's succulent fruit, your favourite drinks or scent. You don't need an excuse to pamper yourself.
We only have one life and it can be as rich and exciting as you want it to be...
The principle of buying yourself your own flower applies to every aspect of your life...
You don't need anyone to tell you, you are beautiful, just start believing it,don't let anyone tell you what is perfection...you are a perfect creation of God...
Until my next posting, remember that wealth and money are not an end in themselves, they are just the mean to bring you joy, happiness, well being and peace of mind....live with passion and take care.

DEVELOP NEW SUCCESS HABITS
Did anyone know that 90% of behaviour is habit and our current level of success or life are produced by our current habits?
Thus,if you are not happy with your current situations, level of income?the relationship you are in?your job?anything at all, then all you have to do is replace your old habits with new ones, new habits that will lead to type of life you dreamed about, level of success you want...
We can start off by developing or replacing one old habit with new one for a week or month depending on how fast you adopt the new habit...say we commit to develop 4-5 new empowering habits a year..only needed is commitment that you must changed...
lets start by few simple habits...
- returning calls within 24 hours
- eating healthy food
- being on time at all time
- reading for an hour a day
- saving 10% of your income regularly every month
- getting adequate sleep and forget the late night partying..
Remember this: Robert J Ringer says 'success is a matter of understanding and religiously practising specific habits that always lead to success'
Until my next posting, remember that positive habits create positive consequences, live with passion and take care.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER ALL OVER AGAIN
Hi everyone,
Today is Monday and it is not an easy day to go through..I don't know about you, reader out there, but for me,going through Monday successfully without a hitch is tough.I think even the most enthusiastic person would have it rough on Monday. Why is it so?Any idea?I think whatever it is, they are inside our head, within the faculty between the 2 ears..we have always associated Monday with blue or rough or tough day....hence the perceptions and the attitudes that go with it ...we may be able to change that by associating Monday with something positive...like the beginning of new beginning?the beginning of eternal happiness, the beginning of a beautiful fruitful week...
Anyway..don't despair,i have something to cheer you up and chase your Monday blues away.......Here goes:
if i had my life all over again.....
i would have invited friends over for dinner,
even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded....
i would have eaten the popcorn in the good living room,
and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light fire in the fireplace....
i would have listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth....
i would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed....
i would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a Rose before it melted in the storage....
i would have sat in the lawn with my children and not worried about the grass stains....
i would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life...
i would have gone to bed when i was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into holding pattern if i weren't there for the day....
i would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last lifetime....
instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy I'd have cherished every moment realizing that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle....
when my kids kissed me impetuously i would never have said 'later, now go get washed up for dinner'....
there would have been more' i love you's'and more' i am sorry's'....
but mostly, given another shot of life,i would seize every minute look at it and really see it, live it and never give it back....
Until my next posting, appreciate life, enjoy the present,do not worry about the future and do not dwell about yesterday, live with passion and take care.

DON'T BE TENSION
Today is Saturday and for most people,Saturday is a non working day, which meant it is a sleeping in day...but for some 'unfortunate' people like me...it is just another working day.Well..surely,we can sleep a little longer, leave the house a little later because the traffic is normally a little lighter on Saturday but very occasionally one would ran a little late and suffers a little consequences which is a little less money or salary being cut a little.Loads of little huh...read on and you will find your stress and tension a little less than when you started your morning with a scream AAAArrrrhhhhhgggggggggggggggggggggggggg!
To make your day even brighter...lets share this wonderful poem;
DON'T BE TENSION
The moment you are in tension
You will lose your attention
Then you are in total confusion
And you'll feel irritation
This may spoil your personal relation
Ultimately you won't get co operation
And get things into complication
Then your BP may raise caution
And you may have to take medication
Why not try understanding the situation
And try to think about the solution
Many problem will be solved by discussion
Which will work out better in your profession
Don't think it is my free suggestion
It's only for your prevention
If you understand my intention
You'll never come again into tension!!!!
Until my next posting, learn to deal with your stress effectively, live with passion and take care.
